Getting your home ready to sell doesn’t have to ruin your Spring! There are a lot of things you can start doing around your home to get it in shape to sell.

After a rainy Vancouver winter, spring is a great time to lighten up your home. Let’s start with an easy way to add more light. Walk around and replace all the light bulbs that are burnt out. You can live with 1/2 light bulbs, but it’s a quick and easy way to bring more light into your home. Next, you can start replacing your dark curtains with white or neutral curtains. You will also want to put a fresh coat of white or neutral paint on the walls, and fill in any holes.

Now that we have brightened up your living space, here are a few small details that will help your home pass the clean test.

  • Clean & paint baseboards

  • Clean the window seals

  • Deep clean carpets

  • Dusk shelves

Fix anything that’s broken. You would be surprised by all the things you let slide under the radar in the past 5-10 years that you have lived in your home. “Fixing it later” will most likely never happen. Now is the time to fix things when you notice them. That way they become small things you can replace daily in preparation to sell.

If everything you need to fix in your home is putting a lot of stress and pressure on you, you can always hire someone to do it for you!
